A retractable leash teaches him nothing. He pulls, he gets more line, so pulling works — until you hit the brake and it hurts. That's a confusing lesson for a dog.
The SCOBYDOG turns him instead. The D-ring sits high on his chest, so the moment he pulls, he comes back around to face you. You treat him, he learns.
When your dog pulls, you press the button. All that momentum arrives on his windpipe in one hit, right where the nerves run alongside it. That's where the coughing and the gagging come from — and over time, that's how tracheal collapse starts.
The SCOBYDOG is built differently. It sits off the throat entirely, so nothing presses on his neck. Even on the back clip, when he pulls, he stays safe.
The front D-ring turns him back to you. And the matching Bungee Leash does the rest.
It stretches with every pull and soaks up the tug, so it never reaches you or him.
The clip locks tight and stays shut, even when he hits it full speed.
The harder he pulls, the softer it feels. Walks stay smooth. Your arm stays happy. Together, they just work.
Getting ready should be the easy part of the walk. No puzzle of straps. No lifting paws. No kneeling on the floor.
The SCOBYDOG just slips over the head in one motion.
Then snap the one big buckle — easy to grip, even with cold morning fingers.
You stand upright the whole time, and your back stays happy.
Harness on, door open, off you go.
